Sidcup, Kent Newborn Photographer | Ewan’s Newborn Photoshoot

Meet this gorgeous baby boy, Ewan! He came for his newborn photoshoot at my Sidup studio a few weeks ago and he was such a perfect little bundle!

When they came back for a second newborn photoshoot!

This is Ewan, belonging to the amazing Gemma and Chris. They first booked me two years ago now, for their daughter’s (Isla) newborn photoshoot. Since then, they have returned to me many times to keep their family photos updated and I just LOVE spending time with them. As a specialist Sidcup newborn photographer, I take great pride in providing a wonderful experience, so that you’d love to come back again.

When Gemma messaged me advising that she was pregnant with baby no.2, I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to photograph their baby boy. Gemma booked me in after her 12 week scan, which between this and the 20 week scan is the ideal time to secure your booking. I only book a limited number of newborns a month, to guarantee fitting in all of those lovely bubbas, as we all know that they arrive when they’re ready!

“Thanks as ever Lauren for the most wonderful photos. So pleased that we found you for Isla’s newborn shoot two years ago and for all the photos and memories you’ve captured of our family in the meantime. Could not wish for a better photographer and recommend you more!”

On the day…

When it came to the day of Ewan’s newborn photoshoot, Isla wasn’t quite ready for being photographed and took a little while to settle in. This is totally ok and to be expected with toddlers! It had been 6 months since Isla had been to my studio, so to her it is a new place and a new person. I always ensure to provide toddlers with amples of time and reassurance as we go, to ensure that they know that they are in a safe place. I got out all of my toys, but bubbles were a sure favourite! This cheered Isla up and we were ready to take some photos (so we thought!). It turns out, that Isla much prefers playing, then having her photos taken 🙂

The ultimate way to capture toddlers with their baby sibling is to make it FUN. With Isla, I instructed her to put a sticker on her baby brother and this enabled me to take a photo of her with Ewan. To me, it doesn’t matter if siblings are not looking at the camera, or saying “cheese”. It matters that they are happy, so natural photos tend to work best.

It was a session that may have felt hectic at the time, but dad said to me during that I have a special way of providing calmness. This is ALWAYS my aim- we always come away with a full gallery and I tell you throughout not to worry (I know that this is hard at the time!).

If you’re due in 2025, ensure to get booked in sooner rather than later! You can find out more info on my newborn page below.
