TIPS TO HELP THE SESSION GO SMOOTHLY
Helpful tips to ensure that your baby’s session goes smoothly:
- Scheduling your cake smash session: If you’d like your photos back in time for baby’s first birthday/party, I would recommend booking in your photoshoot for approx 10 1/2-11 months old. This will ensure that we can fit in your viewing session and receive any product orders.
- Cake exposure prior to photoshoot: Please ensure that your baby has had cake before. Some little ones do not like the taste or texture of cake, so it is best to find this out beforehand!
- Bring some favourite snacks: These are to hide at the back of the cake if your baby is not too interested in the cake itself. This will enable me to still capture some great images of them digging into the cake!
- Clean up: The session is going to be MESSY! Please bring an extra outfit for baby to go home in and also yourself if you wish. You only need to clean up baby and I do the rest. Baby wipes/flannel are a must, as cake can be greasy and sticky!
.
My biggest tip of all is for parents to RELAX and enjoy! This is such a lovely event for this special milestone and little one’s can pick up on stress and anxiety. I’d love for your baby to come into a happy and positive environment so that we can get the best out of them during the session. Try to organise your things the evening before and leave your home in plenty of time for the session. This can also work the other way- babies can get grumpy too and so sometimes they are just not interested in smashing the cake or having their photo taken! Please try your best to encourage them and keep as relaxed as possible throughout 🙂
